Nespresso Coffee Machines

Nespresso coffee makers are small and compact and are not as bulky as drip coffee machines. They are simple in their black aesthetic and range in terms of price and complexity. The only issue with the machine we test is that it doesn't support all types of milk. You will need to purchase a separate frothing tool if you wish to make drinks with whole, 2% or almond milk.

The Original Line

The Original line of pod machines comprises the sleek Citiz Mini and Essenza Mini. Both machines penetrate the capsule and then pump hot water at a high pressure through it to deliver an espresso or a lungo. The original machines utilize a higher pressure of 19 bars than the Vertuo models that have pumps that range from 15 to 18 bars.

The Vertuo machines produce an espresso that is more rich and more dense than the crema produced by the original machines. The crema is more than just froth. The Original line comes with more expensive Creatista or Lattissima espresso machines with built-in milk frothers that can make cappuccinos and lattes at the touch of a button.

The Lattissima Line

This line of machines is ideal for those who enjoy milky coffee drinks, such as lattes and cappuccinos, and want one machine that does it all. It comes with three different recipes and its 4.2 ounce milk container can be taken out and washed in the dishwasher. It is also lightweight and easy to store and move around in small spaces. However, some users say it's not as intuitive to use as other Nespresso models.

The jug's lines for drinks are etched into it, so you can decide beforehand which drink you want to make while the machine heats up. It comes with a sensor that will stop the steaming automatically when it runs out of milk.

The Lattissima One is a good value for the money, and it's available in four colors that include black with gray accents, dark gray porcelain white, and silky white. It's easy to clean and has a a minimalist aesthetic that won't overpower small spaces. The machine is also reasonably priced, with a suggested retail cost of $385/PS279

Like the OriginalLine models, it comes with an automatic drip tray that catches any loose grounds as you pour your espresso. It's a great feature to reduce the mess, and helps to prevent spills which could affect the taste of your drink.

The Pro and Gran Lattissima both have a larger water tank than the Lattissima One, allowing them to hold more liquid prior to needing to refill.
